Checking on DMT Grit Numbers

I've found that DMT is kind of difficult to obtain exact coarseness in numbers.

I did a lot of snooping around and put this together. Do these numbers sound right?

DMT Extra Coarse = 220 grit

DMT Coarse = 325 grit

DMT Fine = 600 grit

DMT Extra Fine = 1200 grit

DMT Extra-Extra Fine = 8000 grit

And BTW, that's a pretty big gap between Extra Fine = 1200 grit and Extra-Extra Fine = 8000 grit don't you think?

If these numbers are correct or close, why would the x-fine and xx-fine be so far apart?

No need to snoop, it's right on their site...

The EEF stone says 8000mesh/3 micron I think there may be some discrepancy between the "mesh" and "grit" nomenclature. If you focus on the particle size, things seem to make more sense...in practice I do not feel that the step between the EF and EEF is larger than it should be.
