Strange request, but before I spend more than I can afford right now, I'd like to take a looksee at one in real life first. So I thought I'd make this post to see if someone that owns one would be willing to part with her for a couple of days, rest assured that the greatest care would be given and she'd be shipped back securely straight away.

Also I would install one of my custom bobtail fobs on there for you, if you are of a mind to have one installed, it would be similar to this one on my Triage folder, can be either camo or black paracord and any more I use black thread for the whipping knot near the knife.

Thanks for considering if anyone is of a mind to share for a few days, you can check my background here on the forums, I've been here quite a while, lets just say, longer than my wife would consider a reasonable time ;)

I would bet a lot of people are still in the honeymoon phase and loving their new mini CR, so i don't like your chances just yet. But i wish you luck :)

Yep, that would make sense, but, as they say, if you don't ask, the answer is always no....;)

Thanks again sir and yes, Mr Glesser is usually right on the mark, of course when you are gripping the knife in use, the handle material is hidden most times anyways, but when you want to display it, that's where the wood character comes into play.
Well, you will have a nice bobtail fob to dress her up now !

The mail surprised me today as it flew in sooner than I had expected and the knife is great, looks like I'll be looking to get one very soon!

Thanks again Taz, I'll get the bobtail fob made up for her and box her up to head home on Tuesday, as Monday is a holiday.

Here's a quick shot of the folder, ended up letting Taz choose one of the nicer Viking beads to go on his bobtail fob, makes for a nice setup, the whipping knot prevents the paracord from wandering around near the blade but allows it to move as well.

Bottom line is I’ll need to save up and pick one of these

Thanks Taz and Yakkibush it is a testament of Taz's willingness to extend trust to me and I did appreciate that, a good trait to have for sure!

Loved seeing this thread. Props to Tas for letting a fellow member check it out. Had I seen this earlier I’d have been happy to send you mine to check out. Especially since you’d have added your fob to it! I’ve seen them on several of your pics here and always admired them. I’m loving my mini CR. I feel like I’m always searching for that “perfect” EDC and I think I’ve found it with this knife. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this after you get yours and use it for a while, Gary.

Tasmaniac Tasmaniac , I think your Dymondwood looks awesome! Being more of a traditional knife guy, I like the different variations on wooden handles. Yours looks really cool!

Here’s a pic of mine with my much used (and loved) Buck 112. Both the “mini” versions of their respective predecessors. As others have already stated, the CR is kind of like a modern 110, so I guess the mini is the modern 112? Both Dymondwood clip points and both excellent knives.

Just wanted to acknowledge the fact that Gary went above and beyond the call of duty by sending me a second keychain fob and some cash to pay for my shipping! He truly is a gentleman and a scholar and I plan to have him install some of these awesome bobtail fobs on other members of my far too large (and continually growing) collection.
