Neat machine George, a very good idea!

I've been tripping over one of those old milling tables for months.

I think you put it in the wrong garage after taking the picture.

George,
You fricken amaze me. You make COOL  things out of junk!!!!
I think that it must be some how related to the HOT relish
your brain must be working on fumes :D :D :D

Nice job IG!

You used an xy table setup to run the grinding wheel up, down and left right, and another xy table to run the work left, right, in and out ????

Great new use for the old grinder!

I have an old radial arm saw that I am eventually going to do something similar with. Two of the tables looks like exactly the solution I was waiting for. Thanks for sharing this with us.

How come we never see pics of that pretty lady anymore? You gettin' tired of her? [just kidding!]

Dave

LUCKY!!!!!!!!
And I was proud of making a new grinder this weekend..
Wish I had that in my shop..
Were did you find the magnetic chuck and slide tables?
Bruce

Bruce: Enco for the magnetic table $198 and Msc for the milling table $120. An I had the other small milling table hanging around. this baby has 1 hp motor @ 3250 rpm's 8" wheel. It take alot of metal off quick.
Dave; Just 2 mill'g tables, the vertical one is just used for up and down. I have to enclose it. Surfaced ground 2 billets and couldn't believe the mess. Never get tried of my sweetheart, there has been more downloads of Helen on my Indain than my knives on my Webshot album. So what if she is better looking than my knives.
Rene: The hot relish makes you think from both ends at the sametime.:D :D :D

Very cool George!

Hey, make sure you put something in front/back of small parts on that chuck or you'll have projectiles shooting around the shop! ;)

Nick

George, You are a genious. Now you may have to put a vacuum system on it or sweep the shop twice a day.

I just check out this machine today. It works very well indeed. Now it's got me wondering how to make an adaptor and surface grinding setup for my KMG! :)
