I reckon we all go through different phases in our knife-collecting habits. I’ve recently grown tired of plasticy modern one-handers… almost to the point of nausea. :barf:
Well, there’s a cure for that… behold! The prescription!
The Buck 501 Squire. Sure, I could nit-pick with a fine tooth comb to find some very minor flaws: I can see the pins in the nickel-silver bolsters, the lockbar sits just ever-so-slightly proud when the blade is folded, and there may be a very miniscule gap between the scale and bolster on one side. However, there’s really nothing for me to gripe about: the blade rests dead-centre in the handle with no slop, solid lock-up with zero play in any direction, excellent blade grind and out-of-the-box sharpness, AND (after I cleaned all the black factory snot out of the knife and added a tiny drop of 3-In-One oil to the pivot) she’s super-smooth to open/close. And she's mighty purdy!
You done good, Buck… you done good. Thank you!
