I received a package in the post from Meako yesterday – cheers mate!

Inside was the gift of a GEC Farm & Field Bullnose Sodbuster, and a nice warm hat, together with a very kind letter.

I love the Sodbuster pattern and GEC’s Bullnose is a real Rolls Royce model. O1 steel is outstanding in my opinion, and the knife came razor-sharp. I think it looks pretty darn good too!

The hat also arrived at an opportune time, and kept my ears warm when I went out for a walk today.

These two gifts are going to get a lot of use. Thanks Meako :)

I agree with FES!!!

Great to have a warm head and a warm knife in the pocket!!!

Again, two great members here that make this place so GREAT!!!

Well done, meako :)

Great package, Jack. The knife is really a working horse, believe me! Nice hat, BTW.

I love that Bullnose! Good on ya, Meako.

Wow! Great generosity and a well observed gift by meako. I know Jack has been admiring this very model knife.

Looks like a toastie hat too.

Really smashing gifts sir (meako)

Enjoy Jack.

Well, it's no fish hat, but I s'pose it'll do.

:D

-- How wonderful, Meako. Your fine gifts to Jack brought a smile. Nicely done! :)

Another example of my favorite type of thread.
Congrats, Jack,
Thanks, Jon.

Jon, you nailed this one, sir. I know Jack likes a good size knife, and that one a beauty. We need to see the hat on, but I'd say it must be quite strapping.

Jack, you are so deserving, my friend!!

Great stuff all around, Jack,I bet you fall in love with that Orange Rolls Soddie

Good on you Meako for this excellent gesture of the "traditional" spirit!

Good on ya Meako! - you chose well to gift to!
I am sure that Jack will put that knife to work big time!

Well done Gentleman!

No worries. Glad you like em.
I have used that knife extensively and it is very good. 01 steel and delrin. It cuts and if you drop it it won't get hurt.
I'm really glad Jack mentioned the sharpness- I took the liberty of taking it to Dr Lanskys surgery before sending it.
If I can get it sharp anyone can.
I mainly wanted to cheer Jack up a bit after his dismay about the plight of the Sheffield cutlery industry and those telling pictures of the old factory in its decaying state.I know these items have found a good new home and owner.
It's possibly the worlds best travelled Bullnose by now.(no hahaha whaat? of course that isn't a sort of challenge ho ho ho).
I'm not sure why they issue those winter beanies to us.There's definitely something fishy about it. Winter in Mt Keira rarely falls below 10C.
beanies?..fishy?... toasty?....I'm hungry.
cheers all.

Thanks again pal, you've certainly put a big smile on my face :)

Jack
