Actual email at my office... Name's deleted to protect... well, my job. :D

I know this dose not apply to all of the staff, so if this is not you Please disregard this email.

I purchased a Cheesecake form xxxx's daughter for a school fundraiser.
I did this because she is a friend and I really wanted to help the school that she attends. xxxx placed the cheesecake in the freezer this morning Sealed and With My Name on it. Someone opened it and cut a slice from it.

This was a $17.50 purchase that I made and if I had intend for anyone else to have any I would have offered it.

I do not know who would have done such a childish nasty and dirty thing, but your mother does not work here. It is not my job to feed or support you. You are a working adult. Act like it! If by any chance some saw this person eating a slice of this cheesecake discreetly let me know. I will do all I can to make sure that they are punished.

The response...

It might be interesting to note that the cheesecake purchaser misspelled the name of the person he bought the cheesecake from?! :)

I am highly upset about this. yyyyyyy was so kind to have bought this cheescake from my daughter. I am absolutely sick over this. $17 is quite a bit of money and not to mention someone thought they were going to be able to eat what they had purchased. There was no email or note sent out saying that this was for all to eat. Please whomever ate this please make sure that you get $17.50 to yyyyyy somehow someway. It is ridiculous that we as adults feel the need to take things that do not belong to us.

Well ... at the risk of being called a moral relativist ... I must point out: we're talking about cheesecake!!

I mean, haven't matters of less importance resulted in open warfare??

How was the cheesecake?

It was I the Cheesecake Thief... Man, that was tasty. I'd tell you who I am, but FREE cheesecake is better than, well... You know!

Sincerely,
The Thief who stole Cheesecake

PS. A tip before sending an office-wide memo, you might want to run a spell checker over your note... And check the dose! :p;):foot: :D:D:D

LMAO! ...Did you catch the offender?

It wasn't me... I never saw the cheesecake.

After he mentioned it, it did sound tasty. I wasn't sure it was the right time to ask for a slice.

OK! Find me a cheesecake in this crummy little AZ town at almost midnight on New Year's and I'll happily give ya $17.50....:D Cheesecake does go with scotch Kool Aid, doesn't it?

A girl needs a knife...

it is funny, depending on who's cheesecake got eaten. Maybe it was the office jerk, and everyone is in on the cheesecake caper.

At my last job, some one continually took people's lunches out, took at least a few bites of everything, ate all the tasty stuff, then put it back in. I think the culprit eventually got fired (there was an elaborate yogurt sting in which he was caught.......that did not get him fired, however the drug test as a result of this incident did)

All right ........ Who ate the damn cheesecake!!

Now THAT is funny stuff!

There is a "male" (I dare call him a man) at work who was mad about someone eating his "Lunchable"....the little girl in the picture stopped eating those about a year ago because the were "for little kids" according to her!:D

I can understand the guy's frustration. I've had part of my lunch stolen. It really puts a damper in your night when you find that that something your looking forward to is gone. Especially since lunch is the best part of where I work.
The company I work have fired people for stealing food. As far as the company is concerned it is theft and therefore is grounds for firing.

The person who ate the very small slice should come forward because it's the right thing to do even though there was plenty left for everyone else and left an aftertaste.

I'm with you here. Now, if it was someone who *knew* it would get his goat, then that's some funny stuff. Otherwise, just pure theft.

Two stations I've been at have fired people for stealing food. I agree - blatant theft. That said, we frequently see free food delivered in hopes of getting a favorable spot on the news. Lots of leftover food from sales conferences too. There is a good chance the cheesecakeburglar thought it was a "freebie" and not someone's lunch bucket.

The worst culprits are the folks from the news department. They are slobs by nature and will eat anything not nailed down.

One of the people we caught in another station was apprehended by hidden cameras. It had become chronic to have significant, and singular, portions of lunches stolen from the fridge. It was a low level clerical chick. Single. A bit overweight. Late 40's / early 50's.

The video (few people saw it) showed her bending down next to the fridge, taking out food, then shoving it down all at once. By the time she stood up and walked away all evidence was gone.

This email wouldn't have been funny to me if he had emailed a concise "Who ate my cheesecake!!" The whiny part tone for a whole lot of cheesecake jokes!
