i bought a billet of "cheetah" pattern damascus while i was the ashokan sword seminar in september. it is composed of 0-1, L-6 and nickel. it has a 5 3/4" blade made by stock removal. domed pin, spacer and guard with "serpent mouth" finials made from nickel. guard is soldered with stay-brite. handle is mango stabilized by k&g. leather sheath with alligator overlay. thanks for taking a look !

Nice, man!!! Love that solder joint!!!!

Is the steel from Del?

John!!! You knocked that one waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of the park my friend.....beautiful!!!!

That's one nice knife. Mango wood, didn't see that coming. Makes me want to look at my Haydens a bit differently.

John,

Super job. That solder joint is so tidy! Nice looking knife. I think it would also look great with 50% more blade length.

What heat source did you use for the solder work, OA, MAP, something else?

that is a clean, and solid looking, knife. great work! I was going to ask whether it was Delbert or Deker, but Matt beat me.

I think that knife is really cool. I wish I had made it.

thanks gents ! marc, i used regular propane. after soldering, i masked the guard with nailpolish then etched the blade in ferric.

Very cool knife! Super combination of materials and excellent overall design and construction
