I know this is a long shot but i'm hoping someone may have some input, a vendor, etc to share.

My parter is a chef. He hates silicone rings. But I want to get him a ring that fits him/what he loves. That said he may/may not consistently wear it in the kitchen (depending on what he is doing, he is left handed so it may not always be comfortable, cleaning, heat transfer, la la la y'all know the drill i'm sure) and I know that there are a few factors there. I wanted a ring that would fit him/his personality/passion regardless and was already thinking something maybe related to his work would be cool. I know this would be a long shot but wanted to see if it was at all possible to locate a maker who made quality chefs knives and could possibly make a matching ring?

There are makers, but perhaps not that make both knives AND rings. One option would be to source material you may like (for example, micarta). You can then provide that material to the knife maker for a handle and the same material to a ring maker. For rings, you can try Trevor Bergk (bergksmetalworks). He uses many materials also used for knives. Good luck.

I dabbled with micaerta rings, and yes knives.....
But just talking out loud, I wouldn't know How to make a ring for somebody else?

I think it's a neat project, but I'm currently not looking for new work until I can get my backlog down some..... If a year or maybe more wait is ok I might think about it, it definitely wouldn't be this year. Sorry.

Do you know the inside diameter needed?
I'll be interested in seeing what direction this takes.....Good Luck. :)

You might be able to find a ring maker who uses Damascus and then commission a chef’s knife made with same style of Damascus.
