Whatcha think about my latest axe/hatchet head? I don't know if the temper lines will come through on the pics, but the head has lots of good steel left. Can't wait to touch it up and hang it.cwd

I like that axe a lot. The heels and toes aren't excessively worn and the bit appears to have been filed rather than put on a grinder. That's a good find!

That's a nice axe. I've got an nice old Sager Chemical DB myself. It's one of my favorite axes.
I had another Sager Chemical DB that I sold like a dumb a$$ :(
It had temper lines almost all the way to the eye on both sides.

Thanks for confirming my hopes that i lucked up. i will weigh her later, and I have not even thought through length yet, just too purty. I've got a nice knot klipper and a couple of others,so i have to quit acquiring and start fixing up. I think this sager is the best one i have, though.cwd

Bought a 1935 Sager Chemical DB at a garage sale for $5. The heads got a little bit of pitting that thing makes me smile. I keep it beside the bed.
