I am shur many of you know about 'Smokey Mt. Knife Works' and there grab bags. But for the people who don't, S.M.K.W. is selling Camillus blades.
These are of many great styles including the USMC Fighting knife in high carbon. These blades are all unground, many have tang stamps some don't.
The ones I have with stamps are marked Camillus New York Made in USA.
Great prices $4.00 - $9.99.

custom edge, not all of the blades are unground. I got a few OVB bowies that are ground, and finished except for the edges, as well as a Moore maker, a few Remington's a Cold steel, and a Western. The Western and More maker are even polished.

I've bought two grab-bags, and in the second one all the blades were ground; all they need is a secondary bevel and a handle.

Just picked up some blanks. Did Camillus heat treat before or after the grind was put on? I ask because I received some ground, and some unground. A file skids on all the ground, but bites into all the unground. I didn't get anything inbetween (HT but unground or ground but not HT). Wondering because I ordered some more, and was wondering If I'd end up with HT unground blanks, which would obviously be hard to work at home.

kiahs - I'm in the same situation; I've been digging around the net trying to find info about the heat-treat on the SMKW blanks, but so far, there's not much to be found. I'm hoping somebody in the Camillus Collectors forum can answer that question for me later.

thx - cpr
