You've seen the pix and read Bro's review.

If you want a Cherokee Rose the price is $200 prepaid. Figure a couple of months or perhaps longer if we get a lot of orders.

On special runs like these we are going to have to get the cash upfront from now on. The reason is because of guys changing their minds or running into cash flow problems themselves. Result -- we have special models that are not line items which we must sell off at a discount. Example: I still have a Falcata laying around that somebody ordered and then decided they didn't want. Can't operate like that and stay in business, especially with Pala trying to generate cash for the new out of the way shop.

Sorry, but that's just how it is.

If you want me to put a Cherokee Rose on the shopping site let me know.

Dunno know if it's worth the effort, but it might be helpful to differentiate between standard items in or likely to soon be in stock from special order or limited production run items on the shopping site. Maybe instructions to inquire about availabilty before ordering the latter. Showing the new stuff on the site can't hurt,IMO.

I'd put it up to facilitate payment but doubt that will be necessary. Paypal or buying a couple of $100 items off the shopping site would work -- as would dropping a check in the mail.

Bill,
Count me as # 2! Can't let Wal & THAT NDN get something I don't have! Bet Rog jumps in when he returns, know he couldn't stand the ole researcher out doing him!

Uncle Bill,
Would you like to post a list of the specials that you have unsold and the prices? We'd love to know what you have.

Steve Ferguson

OK, Fausto.

Steve, the Falcata is all I have left of special orders. I generally sell the left overs at discount.

But can't afford it right now. Yvsa designs knives that are too beatiful. I would love to have a YCS and a Cherokee Rose but I will have to wait. No one but HI could deliver knives as nice as the ones Yvsa has designed for as little money, just a personal cash flow thing. The rest of you who can afford it should jump on these- a Scagel style bowie is a fine thing indeed and it's impossible to find them at this price level.

disclaimer for lurkers and newbies-
despite my recent rash of sales pitches I don't actually work for or receive compensation from Uncle Bill:o Just a very satisfied customer.

:D

Matt

We'll place our order in a week or two after everybody has had a chance to see the info and this thread. I'll keep it at the top until the order flies.

Thinking...thinking....

Hang on for that week or two you mentioned, Uncle, I am trying to find a buyer for the pound of flesh nearest my heart.

Maybe if I repeat "Debt is Good" often enough I'll begin to believe it?

Guys I thank you all for the wonderful support on this knife design, it does mean a lot to me.:)

I do want to caution y'all though that unless Bro can get the kami who happens makes these to make the point a bit thicker and no less than 0.080" or about 3/32" the point may not hold up for you depending on what's done with the knife.
I'm gonna have to take a little off the points on both of mine to ensure that they won't be so apt to bend or break.
But that's okay as they are the prototypes and there is seldom a knife that I get that I don't wind up doing something too.

A good example of that and maybe voiding the warranty, I personally don't care, on my Busse E-BM.
I done quite a lot of work rounding off the micarta blocks, exactly what they were too, too me, (Blocks!!!!), as well as taking some of the belly outta the handle and some off its back as well.
It holds real comfortable now.:)
I also cannot stand to have a knife that I feel like I'm gonna have to Hammer into some one so I put it on my grinder with a 320 grit belt and took a little off the front part of the top of the blade, bringing both sides down to a really nice strong needle point being very, very careful to not even heat the blade up so's I could feel it.
I know dayumed well I didn't hurt it and if it ever breaks, which I doubt very much, then I will figure it wasn't all that and just go on.
That's kinda my philosophy on knives.:p
If the don't fit you they aren't any good. If you can't make them fit then get rid of them.:)

I think when Sanu was edging both top and bottom of the blade he got the point pretty thin. This may be an inherent problem with this model but you can send them all to Bro to touch up. He needs another project.

If the knife don't fit get rid of it -- good philosophy and not just for knives.
