Got some Brazilian cherry wood the other day and wanted to give it a try. Nice wood, I like it. Wanted to make something dirt simple so I went with a single edged "sticker" pattern. They've got a problem in that you can lose track of which side the cutting edge is on. That's why I marked the spine on the little one. It's already been getting quite a workout, and proving itself very useful. Just made the larger of the two last night, 6" blade, 4" handle, I'll put it to work today. ;)

Slim lined simplicity . Nice wood . Is it all as uniform in color ? Most of the cherry wood I see here contrasts more . Whitish pink swirls with darker reds here and there . I betcha it would make a nice arrow .

Them thar is beautiful Sarge. I love working with Jatoba. I made a couple of humidors out of the stuff. Hard as a rock. Much harder than American Cherry. Its REAL cheap at my hardwood dealer too. That and curly maple. I can get the Jatoba (Brazilian Cherry) for ~3 dollars a board food, and the curly maple for like $2.30 a board foot. The straight, non curly maple is more expensive. Go figure.

Still think this is the prettiest one you've made, Sarge. ;)

uh, pictured for jimping comparision. :foot: No other reason. Really.

Say, when Steve gonna post that new medical Ram thang? Sometime soon?

Oh, sometime tonight. :p Editing pics now. :)

Sarge, The great thing about your knives, aside from the workmanship and the utility, is the variety. Outstanding as always!

I agree Mike! That is the very one I was slobbering over. Still got a sweet puukko style that is a beautiful little knife with a great dangler sheath.

He's a tease !

Showing a little shoulder, a coy peek over at you with half-lidded eyes, a twinkle and a twich.....the man's a living tormentor!

You'd think he had a life outside providing stuff for the Cantina and Ram and H.I.!!!

Harummphhhffffttt.

Caught forty winks in the field one time with my head too dang close to ant mound. Couldn't holler or I'd give away my position, but you've got the non-verbals down pretty accurate. ;)

This is what I was going for with these;

But when I see a style I like, I try to capture the style, not necessarily duplicate the item. Sort of like them TV shows and movies that are "based" on a true story. :D

Dagnabit Sarge, you drive a hard bargin. I'll make it a half-barrel o' fish and keep the picture.

Yeah, but that there salt fish ain't tempting me, takes too much grog to wash it down. I like my fish "caught this morning" fresh, got my daughter lining up deep sea charters for when I come to visit her in Florida next month. Snapper, grouper, sea bass, Aaaaargh matey, I be going on a spree. :)

We're not supposed to post links to items for sale in The Exchange. So I won't. But if we could, I would.:)

E-mail is such a handy tool for land sharks . We don,t actually have to knock on doors anymore . Press a few keys and another knife snarkled up .

Oh a vile withering pox upon ye foul sharkey pirates who snared and snarfed up the knives I wanted whilst I was away from this computer! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest yer nether regions!!!

Sounds like sour bait to me . L:O:L

I,ve been quietly circling and keeping my teeth flossed and filed sharp . I sent a little swirl of a current flow through the water to make my prey glance away and chomp , chomp , chomp . No fuss , no muss . Mack The Knife struck again .
For some reason I feel like a nice smooth peaty Scotch .
Musta been something I ate .
