Here is quick photo of unboxed Cherrywood scaled Chairman Series 300 Slipjoints. First glance looks good. I like color, polished and rounded bolsters. Critical evaluation to follow. Notice new box color. 300Bucks

For me it's the 301. I don't like knives that are so small they slide, fall or fly out of my pocket when I take out my keys. But I'll likely never use this cherrywood one anyway. I have an old 301 from '72 that's my user.

I think Larry O has them...

Yes, Larry most certainly does, I returned home just now, and found my 301 from him in the mailbox!!

I honestly had forgotten I reserved one through him many months ago, so what a great surprise!!! (and now glad I didn't order one from SMKW last week!!)

On the knife itself, all I can say is WOW!!!!!

Looks great and fit is wonderful! All 3 blades have solid "snap" and no play on any of them. shaving sharp to!!!

The cherrywood is nice and dark.

Buck hit it way over the fence on these!!!

As good a looking knives as those are, I would prefer Chuck Buck not bee on the wood. To me, if it has to be somewhere, it would be better on the blade, where it could easily be removed if one wanted.

Thanks for giving us this choice of a knife though.

There may be a bit too much signing going on in the knife business these days.

.

I can picture somewhere, say Starbuck's or anywhere, a waitress or barista finding one of these and calling out "Did a gentleman named Chuck Buck lose his knife?"

I think of the scale as where you put customized inscriptions, the name of the owner or recipient. The tang or blade is for the maker. But that's my own frame of reference.

I have a Custom Shop 110 with the KOA Flamewood.......I'm trying to picture some graffiti in that gorgeous scale.

No.....someone would have to die.

:D

In that case, you would have to inscribe (if you were going to at all) the bolster. :D

On traditional knives it's always on a badge, scroll or shield of metal, not the scale itself.

I like the knife, and I like Chuck, really I do, but I'd like a nice cherry wood handle without a signature on it.

No offense Chuck.

Carried mine this morning as I went and scouted out my deer blind and area, it really rides well in teh pocket, the contoured bolsters are a nice feature!!!
