Chess Box present

I just finish my Dads belated Christmas present. It's not a knife but i felt like showing it off :D

It's a Chess Board/Box made from american oak and wenge with a jarrah boarder. Black felt inside and on the bottom. (cant see it in the photos but the lid is rebated and sits inside the lip of the box).

Thanks guys! Nah, won't be turning the pieces. Bi beyond me at the moment. I'll just buy some nice ones.
 
Very nice craftsmanship!! Ive been thinking about making a gun and kife combo case but i want the gun and knife to be form fittied in the case but no clue how to do it. After seeing your chess board I need to figure it out and do it!!

Thanks mate. You could buy some black foam and cut it to fit or cut timber to fit and line it with felt.

Yeah I was wanting like a felt lined display case but just not sure how to pull it off. Gonna have to do some more research
