Before the day's light completely receded I snapped a few photos. When my son gets back from St. Louis next week I will try to remember to take a few with his yeller peanut included before he returns to school.

I need to let the 1978 appaloosa blades see some fruit/vegetable action so they can catch up with their younger siblings in the 2011 chestnut.

Looks like I have the same dilemma as Pete: which peanut to use?

Very nice Doug, the Appaloosa is going to look great with a patina, also I like the larger nail nick & placement. Is the nail nick larger and deeper on the pen blade also?

I really like that appaloosa bone. On a side note, we have probably had about 6 Appaloosa horses when I was growing up. My parents still have one. They are beautiful horses.

Thanks Doug, I just noticed the slight swedge on the clip & pen very nice, the damascus also has a slight swedge.

you know, if they made a appaloosa bone texas jack
i would seriously do some swooning and probably fainting...you know gone with the wind style :D

That appaloosa is just unbelievable. I agree with Pete, that nail nick is awesome. If the new ones had them it would look better to me. Almost looks like a long pull on that short blade :)

I guess the only thing I'm curious about is, how is the unjigged bone when your hands are wet or cold?

Carl.

I Love that Appaloosa bone Doug, Looks like Mammoth ivory. I too like the nicks moved back but i like the sharper edges on the other nicks. :D I'll be keeping my eyes open for one. Thanks for posting.

Best regards

Robin

I really like the look of that Appaloosa. I've never seen it before and it's nice, it really does look like antique walrus or mammoth ivory. Thanks for the pics!
