Good friend of mine is looking for a responsible Kali class for his 5 year old boy.

Anything in the NW side you could recommend?

Thanks in advance for help, gentlemen!

Degerberg Academy - 4717 N Lincoln Ave

Dunno if he'll get kali at age five since the attention span of a five-year-old is pretty short, but start looking here.

Lakeshore martial arts in Lake forest.'
Guro Marc Hallack is the instructor and is one of guro dan inosantos's guys who also trains with Rick Fay out of Minneapolis

+1 for Degerberg - been training there 10 years +; can't say enough about the place....

I know Marc and NSA - he's a great guy and I've gone to his place several times for seminars. If you're closer to him, fantastic.

Also, there's Mike at Elite Martial Arts in Skokie - great guy, great system, great instructor.

thanks for the kind words...but my youngest student is 14, and i have to interview them for their maturity level. i don't want little boys and girls running around playing with knives and such at home...:D

uummmm....Degerberg Academy? i was one of the instructors for their FMA/JKD/SILAT/Muay Thai...most of us left already. but i think a female instructor may still teach once in awhile. other than that i dunno any other FMA instructor there.

i know Marc Halleck...use to see him a lot @ seminars, too.

Hi Saint,
Degerberg has changed in the recent years from the boxing / kick boxing orientation back to different more reality-based systems. The pro boxers and some MMA guys train there, but there is a core of kali guys and reality-based guys as well. Depends on which "crowd" you hang with there.

Be well.
