Anyone else going?

While a decent size, it is perhaps not as impressive as some other shows I've been to, but it should get me through until the Edgerton Show and Badger Show in Wisconsin roll around. I got some great deals at the Oaklawn show last year; the folks from The Edge (Kevin Pensinger) and Blade Art were both there with tables of exquisite knives.

And if someone knows the easiest way to get there, please post it--I spent two hours driving in Chicago suburbs trying to find the damn place

I'll be there one day. Which says a lot, since it's a "hometown" show. I've always enjoyed the Chicago show for the company, little else.

I'll be there Saturday, for drooling purposes only - completely tapped out cash-wise for the foreseeable future, but this will be excellent entertainment. I heard some complaining about slow sales last year, but it's Chicago and people are afraid of knives . . . .

I will also be coming from Wisconsin. It is very simple to get there. Take the 294 bypass around Chicago at get off at the Oak Lawn exit east. Go east until you can see the building on right and turn right! No problem. Dick

More info:

There are going to be about 120 vendors at this show. Admission is $5. Hours are:

Fri 3:00PM-9:00PM (15:00-21:00)
Sat 8:30AM-6:00PM (08:30-18:00)
Sun 8:30AM-3:00PM (08:30-15:00)

Street address (damn near impossible to find w/o calling  ):
9401 S OAK PARK AVE
OAK PARK IL

Unfortunately, budrichard's directions are not entirely correct. Here's a MapBlast link to the location, from which you can plot a route. This is the verbal text direction I received from the guy at the 708 number in the original post:
Take 294 south to 95th St. Exit 95th St. East. Go about a half mile until you come to the first light, Oak Park Avenue. Take a LEFT and look for the large community center/park district building; it should be immediately on the left side.

I'll have a table at the show. Stop by and say Hi! Let me know you are from the forums. This is going to be my first time at the show so I look forward to meeitng some new people.

Craig
