I've got a Chicago, and it has become my most carried knife since I purchased it a couple months ago. Unfortunately, the lockup has gone south pretty quick. I don't think the liner even touches the tang when open at this point.

I realize that the Chicago has been discontinued in its current form, so would sending it to Golden for a repair even be possible? I considered trying to bend the lock bar myself, but i don't think that would do anything but make it effectively shorter.

Is there any word on a reintroduction? If so, I'd like to know if there's any sort of redesign involved, or if parts would still be interchangeable?

Your best bet is to call them, they will probably have you send it in and if they cant fix it and do not have any more in inventory they give store credit towards another product.

Sal has said they are not coming back.

I would send it in. They'll probably have a spare.
I'm curious where the liner engaged when you first got it?

Thanks for the replies. Sad to hear it won't be coming back... I'll hold my breath for a sprint run at some point, I liked it so much.
AF, the liner's position hasn't changed at all, it's still near the liner-side of the tang, but after taking it apart to see what was up, it was clear that the liner and tang mating surfaces weren't parallel to begin with, and the corner of the tang has worn a notch in the liner.
