Hello,

I have made a few sheaths using chicago screws instead of sewing. I have been using nickel plated brass screws. I would assume that np brass is best. Is this the case? How about stainless steel? would it guald?

Thanks ahead.

I personally use oxide coated steel posts. I don't believe they are stainless, but they are very durable. I've not had the best luck with Chicago screws. Feel free to PM me with any questions, I'd be happy to help.

I use Chicago screws a lot. I think they are nickle plated brass (They are the kind Tandy sells). With a little loc-tite on the threads upon assembly - I have little to no issue.

Thanks Tal. I have made a few sheaths with the tandy chicago screws. Havn't got to give them an activity test yet, other than banging around my yard.
