Maybe this is off topic...

I heard Dan and the guys talking about some kind of Rep Chiclet thingy?

Never heard of it before...so I did some looking...cause between my rants and stupid jokes...I figure I have only red chiclets...but there were some from this outfit...and they all had nice comments?

SO I wanted to say thank you to all of you who helped to balance my kharma for all the grumpy things I have said from time to time. Last year when I first started on Blade Forums there was a subject of two I went striaght to all out flame war on...before I even knew what a flame war was...

Who invneted this system of rating? Does anybody pay attention to it...or is it just for fun?

Shane

As for who invented it I'm not sure, does anyone pay attention to it? Some do and some don't for me it's all in fun, my opions of people are based on thread content and personality, not what other people think, but then that's just my opinion. :)

Yeah, I just discovered the rep thing a month or so ago, myself. I thought "chiclet" was kinda a net attaboy, but hadn't really realized there was an actual rating!

So, for all y'all that left me nice comments when the rating thing was first enabled, thanks...I'm sure they were nice. ;) For more recent comments, I appreciate it, and I now understand the frustration of NOT being able to give "rep points" on a really great post, because you've already given so many to Josh, munk, 45-70, etc...

Google sez: "Chicle is the gum from Manilkara chicle, a species of sapodilla tree. It is a tropical evergreen tree, native to in Central and South America. It is the traditional material used in chewing gum."

When I visited Chichen Itza (Mayan ruin in the Yucatan Peninsular, Mexico) the guide said that the word "Chiclet" meant "mouth noise" in Mayan.

"Chi" means "mouth" and "let." Means "noise." Guess the Mayans were lip smackers when they chewed their gum!

He went on to say that "Chichen Itza" meant the "Itza Family" who lived at the mouth of the well.

Tried to find more on Google about this, no luck.

Probably more than y'all wanted to know. Boring Sunday morning here in Atlanter, Jawja.

an important part of a balance forum!

I'm a corrupt South Amercian General, and Bill the Cat want's to be corrupt but isn't.

It's important to note that we live in a world where one billion Big Macs were sold and Brittany Spears sells music.

While I've seen Mexican kids selling Chiclets and seen them in Mexican restaurants, I had no idea there was an actual historical connection. Learn something new every day!

Yes, you have much to be proud of.

I read Spark's tag- he has all the buttons. All you get is a reputation beyond repute. I was kinda disapointed. That's it?

Bill the Cat is back in the red again. "He can only hope to improve."

I try to ding Bill whenever he asks but it's difficult...I feel bad every time that I do it. I keep thinking of "Fight Club" for some reason.
