childrens toy knives ?

Victorinox makes a toy swiss army knife for kids. all plastic, I think the age is 2-3 years old or so.

My son cut his teeth on a real Remington Stockman (literally) and has had a Cold Steel Training knife since he was two.

What and teach your kids to be murderers?

My kids got these last year when they turned 2 & 3 respectively.:D

I got my 3 year old twin boys the same thing this past Christmas. They love them. They like telling everyone they have a knife just like daddy.:D

thank you nordic viking ! you have just contributated to my daughters deliquincy ;) i just bought one of those on ebay ! :)

she's only 2 and she makes my selection on which knife i carry daily ..
right before we leave the house i unlock my knife cabinet and she picks on for me and we begin our day :)
now i can pack her steel (plastic) in her diaper bag lol

sincerly though thank you :)

I personally would wait until they are in grade school to have a real knife. I had a small Imperial knife and carried it to school everyday.... can't do that anymore. A small SAK is nearly perfect as the kids really like the gagdets. You move up in size as their hands grow and of course interest. I don't much like the toy knives that have the retractable blades for stabbing. Seems like you are teaching them the wrong thing. Rubber knives hurt and I don't think they sell them anymore. The star wars light sabers work well and are pretty harmless.

Keep in mind that toy knives, guns, and weapons can land a kid in a lot of trouble at school.

My dad used to carve me toy knives from wood. Wish I still had one or two of those. Somehow knowing that he took the time to make them added a special aura. How I worshipped that man! Wish he was still around so I could tell him again how lucky I was to have him as a father.

What a nice thought. That made my evening. Thanks.

Those look like a good way of teaching knife-safety to youngsters.
