The one problem area I have shaving is my chin. I either have stubble or shred the area. Any pointers for a closer, irritation free shave on chin?

the guy on youtube who does the shaving videos showed when using a double edge razor, to do it in multiple directions and passes. from the middle outwards, in towards the middle, then against the grain. apply more shave cream in between passes

I grew a goatee.

Actually you have to pay real close attention to blade angle and technique, especially if you have a cleft chin (butt chin). The videos mentioned above are by Mantic59. Great videos on all aspects of wet shaving. I would try less skin stretching there to reduce irritation, be sure you know which way the hairs actually grow there, mine grow north - south, but under my chin go east-west and swirl at the corner of my goatee. Take a dry cotton ball and rub it on the stubble, I will show you which way the hair grows. Stick to WTG and XTG there for now, and then do a little buffing in the trouble areas.

I pull and strech the skin first down and then up. This way I don't have to match the curve of my chin with the blade angle. For under the lip I move my lip in and press my chin out and move the razor side to side. I still have to do the buffing in spots there as well but not much.

I don't have a problem there. It's right under the nose, only a small cartridge can get in there to scythe the bristles right next to the nose. Nose too big...??
