Chinese Folder Lock?

Sal,

Have you had any thoughts on the lock for the Chinese Folder now that the rolling lock has fallen through. Not that my opinion matters much, I'm only going to buy one

, but I'd be just as happy to see a front lock rather than a liner lock. Nothing against Spyderco's liner locks, but after playing with my BF Native and my new G10 Harpy I've become a fan of the front lock. I think it would suit the utilitarian, non-tactical nature of the Chinese Folder better than a liner lock.

Heck, I'm still going to buy one, no matter what sort of lock it has

EW, thanks. Saw the photos

What steel?
What handle material?
When are they coming out?
How much?

Ditto what Jerry said... That's a nice knife.

Clay - The original design was made with a linerlock. We tried to redesign for a front leverlock, but the lines changed too much. We'll be using the original linerlock concept as Bob designed it, but we'll be Spyderizing the lock with some of our tricks.

Thanks Sal, sounds fine to me. This is one knife I am really looking forward to, if you hadn't already guessed

Jerry, IIRC, Sal said the handle was to be dark green Almite, perhaps with some gold leaf added.....darn I've just dribbled on the keyboard

For a large folder, I'd rather a liner-type lock than a lock-back.

I like the lines of the folder.
How about using a liner lock with a small ball "NO Detent".
Instead us a backspring ala a slipjoint knife.
My take is if you can wrist flip it open it should be carried point down.

Ooooh! I missed that! I can hardly wait to see this. (I have to clean the drool off my own keyboard and monitor first.

Great, another knife to add to my wish list.
This is getting crazy.
