I'm thinking about buying one of these. Any fresh ideas/comments about this knife? Do the clip screws thread into the steel liner?

It is my favorite "nice" knife, bar none. Blows away my others, really. Plus, I distrust linerlocks passionately, but this one is as good as they get.

I can't tell if the screws go into the liners, but the handles aren't plastic, so that's plenty. This clip isn't going anywhere.

I'm very sure you won't be disappointed in this one. Get the plain edge.

Thank you! I ordered a plain edge yesterday, and it should get here pretty soon. I wasnt going to buy this knife because of the liner lock and the coating, but something made me buy it...if the lock is anything like the lock on my starmate, then i'll love it! Almite is a pretty tough coating, right? --is it more scratch resistant than an anodized coating?
 
I believe the coating is anodized. I may be biased but I do think they hold up better than most. Let us know how you like the knife.
 
It's Almite, and it's moderately tough. Probably around the same level as good anodizing. That's why I consider it a "nice" knife. I'd rather use something else to chop down a log cabin.
 
How does the Chinese folder work for lefties? Can you get a good purchase on the opening hole, when opening the knife left-handed? This piece would make a perfect classy utility knife for me, but unfortunately it's set up completely for 'righties'.

I can open it left handed. I have it set up for tip up carry, and can open it easy. Closing it left handed is another matter. You might want to wait and hear from a real "lefty". Not just me. :)

Good choice of knife. This is one sharp (both classy and razor-like)piece and I've enjoyed having it as my dress-up knife AND around towner on occasion. I truly believe that you will enjoy this knife.
 
I got my Chinese Folder the other day and i really, really like it!! It's very well made and extremely sharp! What a classy knife!
