I received my Chinook 3 yesterday and absolutely love this folder. :D

I would love to see this raised jimping style incorporated on some additional knives.

I got my chinook 3 about 2months ago and its been my EDC since. Not to friendly looking for the non knife folks but i'm not to worried about that!

You' ll find that style jimping on the early runs of some models. The Para, Millie, & Cf Stretch all used that style once a upon a time... I'm a big fan of it too, my favorite jimping style though is the "train track"grooves as seen on the ats34 & 440v Millie.

I would like a Para or Military with that jimping style. Any idea where pics cans be found?

Also, I am not sure what the "train track grooves" are like, it sounds interesting.

Thanks!

Looks like my Chinook is going to be for EDC as well, along with the p'kal. Some people claim it is too heavy, but I sometimes carry a ZT0300 and have no problems with it, so this sub-6 ounce folder should not cause me any difficulties at all.

"Train track" style on left, "stepping stone" style, like that on the Chinook III, in center, current "fine gear tooth" style on right. Personally I think the style used on the Chinook III is the worst looking jimping they ever used but, as with most things, tastes differ.

I agree Paul that the "stepping stone" is not the best looking jimping around, and from some of examples I've seen pictures of it appears that often the finishing of the of them leaves a lot to be desired too. They are very practical though on out door "work knives" especially for gloved users.
