Sometimes it pays to ask here. I really like the Chinook 3. However, there are times when I find myself wishing for a blade shape similar to a Randall #1 or Perrin Bowie to better enable me to make a straight thrust. So... Sal, any chance for a flat ground clip point Perrin style blade (ala Street Beat) married to the current Chinook frame?

Hi Loki,

We do have a Perrin folder coming out this year called the PPT. Might be to your liking. The lock is what we call a "Perrin hybrid lock". It's a synthesis of the Walker Linerlock and the Reeve integral lock.

We've been chatting with James Keating on a design refinement to the Chinook, I'll mention your suggestion.

Eric's lock-back Manix also might serve.

Tell James to take a hard look at the Emerson CQC-13.

Something like that with that old Spyderco magic added to the mix would definitely find a place in my collection.
