Hi *@*,
I just got my Chinook II from NewGrahamKnives and I must say that I am less than enthusiastic about the knife. It has some very slight vertical blade play (ok for a back-lock) but major lateral blade play, too. I can easily move the tip of the knife for about 1mm (sidewise) and the blade has a general wobbly feeling to it.
Then I decided to tighten the pivot screw to see if that would help, when I noticed that the right screw (from top view) showed quite some wear marks, as if someone already tried to tighten it up forcefully. Consequently I wasn't able to reduce the lateral play at all.
From what I've read here about NewGrahamKnives I have little doubts that they will solve the matter to my satisfaction, but this knife should never have passed Spyderco's quality assurance check. The defect is really noticeable the 1st time you touch the blade. I also have a Military PE/S30V and a Scorpius PE/VG10 and both knives lock up like vaults with no blade play at all - just what I expect from a Spyderco.
Bad luck, I guess. *sigh*
