chinook II question

Hello everybody,

I`ve got a question concerning the new chinook model.
I bought this knife some weeks ago on a big knife show here in germany and i am still very impressed about the quality and bulletproof appearance of this piece.
What i would like to know is if anybody can tell me wether the screws that hold the clip in the 4 different positions are just screwed into the g10 handle or if they go down in the stainless steel liners.
There is no problem with the clip, I am just curios and wasn`t able to find the answer by looking at the knife myself.
As far as I know the screws of my chinook I and of my two starmates all go down in the liners, but as the new liners are different i am not sure about the chinook II.
Thanks for all input and sorry for any language mistakes.

greetings from bavaria (yes that is where they make the real beer), blacky

Hi Blacky:

It has been a few decades since I was there, but the beer was excellent. The beer at the Pension was from the village brewery--wonderful stuff.

Anyway: On my Chinook II, the screws go into the liners. However, the holes in the G-10 are a little larger than those in the steel, so be cautious when putting them back--seat by hand until they properly engage the liner before tightening down or they'll cross-thread.

Best regards.

Thanks a lot, so you should think about coming over again, the beer is still fine...

it is good to hear that the screws go all the way in the liner, that was what i was hoping to hear and what i expected - spyderco did the job perfect as usual.
kudos for producing one of my favorite knifes

so i am happy with my chinook, time to sit back relax and of course - have a beer,

greetings blacky
