Chinook ??? Please Help

Definitely a Chinook I, as they switched them over to S30V before introducing the Chinook II.

You can recognize a Chinook I by heavier weight (~8 oz.), full steel liners instead of skeletonized, blade's longer top strap (squarer) versus the rounded Chinook II.

Sounds like you got an original Chinook rather than the Chinook 2.
I double that. If your Chinook has CPM 440 V and revited handle and no 4-way clip and false edge, it's the original Chinook.

First is the Chinook and second is the Chinook II. The new Chinook II has a flat blade of S30V (not pictured).

With the differences in blade materials and manufacture cities, I ALWAYS ask specifics about these things. Especially if I'm shopping flea-bay. However, calling reputable stores about your knife order (to ask the above) is a good idea too. Saves hassles and dissappointment.

I'm not too familiar with the Chinooks. I tend to like the blade design of the original though, after seeing the comparrison pics above.
