I was thinking of buying a chinook 3 but was wondering if there was going to be a version 4 sometime in the future with improved features(not that it needs improving) Or even a sprint version of 3 sometime. Does anyone know anything of this or has nothing been announced. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.
Also would anyone else like to see a sprint run chinook in digi cam G10 with m390/s90v/20cp or some other top end steel?

I would really dig a chance at a sprint Chinook, heck I wouldn't turn down the chance to pick up the recently discontinued version either.

I can't find one. I started looking as soon as I heard they weren't being produced & was already too late. I've heard nothing but good things.

Thanks everyone. Im going to get the chinook3 now. Im in the uk so theres a couple of sites have them but I'll end up paying alot more than you would have to over the pond but thats life I suppose.
Thanks again for the encouragement.

Since there's a plan to rerelease the original Manix (no timeline known yet), maybe there's hope for another Chinook. How about a Chinook in 3V?

I'd love it and would buy a couple. I'd really love one in 110V though.

lets be honest, we all would settle and preorder a new chinook. maybe one with a wave or flipper? ha

Got my chinook and while im very happy with it there is quite abit of blade play(especially when closed) It is a 5 year old knife so I cant really complain. Cant send it back because its showing as out of stock and discontinued. I must of got the last one so id rather keep it with play than send it back and not have it. Been pretty new to spyderco i have just seen the chinnok 1 for the first time and wow id love to own one of them sometime. I just love solid hefty knives. I know most people prefer light knives but surely there is a place in the market for a solid/heavy knife which seem to becoming rarer and rarer.

If the blade has play when it's closed, then that means horizontal play? Probably just adjust the pivot, as was mentioned above.

Yeah side to side/horizontal. When I squeze the pivot with my fingers the play does goes away so I guess it will work. Just need to find them allen keys I have tucked away somewhere.
I had thought to tighten pivot but the last time I did that to a knife I could not for the life of me get it right. It was either too loose or too tight. That was not a spyderco though.
Thank again for the info.

Hmmm you'd need torx wrenches not allen.

The more I see and read about that knife, the more I really want it. I'd pull the trigger if I could find one for a decent price and if it was in good shape.

Shoot me an email, I've got one in exc. condition(carried a couple of times but never used).
