I have a benchmade 940-2 that was modified to have a small thumb stud relief on the left side. Worked as intended at first but must have been sanded just a little too much to where it developed a small chip. I'm afraid it's getting worse and i want to fix it ASAP! What would be the best way to fix it? You can see part of the axis locking mechanism move through the crack. When the axis lock is not engaged you can see the mechanism is right there but when the axis lock is pulled down you can see the metal piece move out of the way. I don't want to replace the scale because benchmade told me it would cost 50$ which is crazy for a single G10 scale.

I'm not sure if you tried & they aren't showing up, or if I just can't see them, but pictures would help. Aside from that, I have actually repaired G10 & Micarta with 2 part epoxy and saw dust from the material. Use sawdust color of the material you have and mix with the 2 part. This makes a kind of mortar paste that will fill in the chip, crack, etc. Then the excess must be sanded. I've done this on Mucarta and Carbon Fiber.

Epoxy works well, as David said. If you take the scale off you can do a better job and not risk getting epoxy where you don't want it. Some pictures would help!

Yes, I'm sorry. Of course the scale must be removed. I must remember to be clear on things. Thank you Ernie.
