Chip on the blade

Hello all

So here is the story. I was working on the March Challenge with my BK2 and I was not being careful and I hit cement with the blade. I know, bad call. There is some chippage near the end of the blade, nothing terrible, just minor stuff. I was wondering, is it possible to get that out by re-sharpening it on a medium then fine stone or I am going to have to do something a little more intense to fix the problem?
Thanks in advance.

Here you go:

I feel like they are a little bigger in real life but maybe that's just me being dramatic.

I chipped my BK2 right after I got it. I hit a nail that I didn't know was in a board. Normal sharpening took it out. Now I can't tell it was ever chipped.

Mine was bigger than your chip.

Just re-sharpening for a bit will do.

I had a chip on my 5 a few weeks back and got it out nice and purty just by re-sharpening.

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'll have to work on it this evening and see what I can pull off. I have been hand sharpening it with a stone lately and that's been working out well. The Lanksy system just was not doing it for me.

Stick with the stone and it'll come out. Basically, you have to work it enough that you get the rest of the edge down to that level. Should take an aweful lot, really, and it you don't mind having it there, the just sharpen it and in time you'll have a smooth profile again.

My worksharp knife and tool sharpener would fix that quick. Every BK2 owner should have one. It LOVES that knife.

I see the blade, I don't see the chip... Maybe if I break out the electron microscope I can see it...

If you use it, the blade will see some chips and dings and bends... Don't worry about it, just use it!

a slight touch up should do it, or keep using it and safe for a more thorough sharpening

i imagine the concrete took it worse :>

It's a battle scar, and chicks dig scars. I doubt it will ever affect any cutting operation in a negative way.

I put a chip/ding in mine from chopping onna china knife, it came right out on a course whetstone. I now have another spot from batoning a fridge, perhaps im mean to my Beast LMAO
