Hi, Being relatively new to knife making I have a quick Question. What is the best way to fill in, blend in, around a pin or rod that passes through the scales. When assembling my last knife using mahogany scales some of the scale chipped away around the pin. Is there a best way to repair this blemish other than filing down below the level of the chip? In this case particular I can't do that. Thanks. Ken

When I need to fill in small gaps, a little sawdust mixed with epoxy and worked into the hole works pretty well. Work it up slowly, then sand it flush.
