Was clearing brush, not sure what I hit. What do I do to fix this one? Rest of the knife stayed really sharp. It is a thru hard model.

I have hit stapels and nails in wood along fence lines and gotten chips like that. Should be fine by simply sharpening it out.

yah, just sharpening it out. Thru hardenned makes no difference as the Rc is the same at the edge. I have had chips like that on dozens of knives. I just sharpen them out, it takes about 5-10 minutes to get a good edge back. When I was hacking on the spine of the Ontario knife with the SHBM I got dents about half that size that I just steeled out and you could barely notice. I later sharpened them out and it took but a few minutes.

If you have any trouble send it in and we'll resharpen it for you. I would doubt that they are actually chips, probably just rolled/dulled the edge really good.

:D:D

I was gonna call BS on that and say, "Boy, it sure looks chipped to me."

But upon further inspection of the right-facing pic, it does look rolled. Even though it was all in my head, I apologize for thinking such blasphemous thoughts, Eric.

It really is chipped, it is okay, it be a user. Just have no idea what I could have hit. But I'll try to take most of it out, I'm sure it will be fine.

So, if I can't glue this back on, Eric, ya'll will do it for me? ;)

Oh, it was just a combination of '74 GMC truck door, the exterior mirror frame, and an empty fire extinguisher.. :D

I would just leave it as is if the rest of the edge is still sharp. It won't affect performance. For a blade that gets used heavily and often, if you sharpen it every time you get tiny dings or chips, pretty soon you won't have much blade left.

yes, but you want to steel it and align it with a strop, otherwise the stress riser created around the chip will cause further fracturing.
