I have a strider with s110v steel and I have chipped it somehow I don't know what caused it but I don't abuse the knife . it still cuts well but if I leave the chip will that area get bigger with use?

some photos for you

the big chip is where the white dot is

also any one else have problems with s110v chipping out.

There are 4 chips in your blade. They can be sharpened out with use. I wouldn't try to get them out all at once. Work it slowly over time. And after several sharpenings they will disappear. Your blade maybe of higher hardnes or an obtuse edge angle. Thanks Fred. DM

Is the sharpening angle extreme? 24 inclusive? The reviews I've read on Spyderco knives using this steel have shown many people re-profiling the edge to 20 dPS to make it less chippy. I understand it wears well but will not take any of the more acute angles.

I didn't get any chipping on mine at edge bevels, confirmed BY SPYDERCO upon inspection, at 16 dps and 18 dps respectively.

I didn't push the edge as I would a 3V though. I agree : just use it and don't worry about it. The only time I would waste steel grinding out chips is if I were using the knife as a carving knife and the chipped area would leave a track in the finish of the carving.
