I've been REALLY digging the upcoming Benchmade that's popularized in the latest scandle...but under close examination, I noticed that there are chips in the blade! Just thought that was very strange for the sample photos.

It's near the tip...pretty significant!

yup, a chip and scuffs. I photoshopped it and the color around the chip is different, looks like something happened to it and they tried to pretty it up before the shoot with a sharpie

The heat treat of 8Cr14MoV is on par with the heat treat of S30V, and any knife that trys to cut through a Trademark will chip.:p

P.S. And you (Artfully Martial) actually said in another thread that, absent the butterfly logo, you would have thought this knife was a Spyderco.:foot:

Look at the screw and lanyard holes. Dead sexy knife indeed. Looks like a cheap POS copy that BM threw up just to use the hole.

Yeah, this knife is very spydery in my opinion. That's a big reason I'll probably buy it. I've been waiting for a knife like this from Spyderco for awhile now and it doesn't seem to be in the cards in my lifetime. If they caly jr. had been a liner lock, I'd have bought it...they rely so heavily on lockbacks, and I don't think they're comparable in usability or safety, in my personal and highly unpopular opinion. The Captain got so close, and I'm glad it has a unique blade profile, but for me, I want a nice little drop point like this.

I like the looks of this knife, but, tip down:mad: and if the fit&finish are the bad on the display pic, who knows what quality it will be? I'll wait till Artfully Martial picks one up, and see how it goes there first.:D

Well, don't hold out too long on the review, it seems as if I'll be stoned to death for the purchase first (another thread). Bury me with my Spydercos and Benchmades. Viva la resistance!
