There's a new kami at HI that's going to make a good name for himself. He's Santosh, and the CAK that I just received from Yangdu is superb. Normally I sharpen, buff, sand, polish the scabbard, etc. This one doesn't need it and is going right to work. The fit and finish is superb. The blade has a nice slightly convex bevel, and an edge that's ready to cut. Not shaving sharp but a fine working edge that hasn't been overbuffed and dulled. Ready to chop. The only thing I'll do is slightly dull the handle ring to protect my little wimpy hands.:)

Thanks Yangdu and Santosh!

Steve

Another nice khukuri. Minimal habaki bolster and nickle-silver fittings, isn't it? With a lovely, correct cho, too.

The two I've gotten in the last couple months- an 18" Kobra and 18" Bojpure, both by Vim, are excellent blades.

I like the arrow maker's mark. It probably says in Devangari, "Point other side towards enemy." :D

Is indeed a nice one, Steve.

Though I've never sharpened, buffed, or sanded the scabbard...

Nice pictures, thank you Steve

Now that's a maker's mark. Beautiful knife Steve, thanks for sharing.

Santosh huh, I'll have to look for his stuff. Sure looks like nice work to me, I like his mark...this end up.
