Hey all, I was wondering if I could gain some insight into making a V ground out of a chisel grind. I'm purchasing an Emerson Horseman and want to re-do the blade into a V grind. The problem is that I have no idea how to go about doing that, so any help/tips would be greatly appreciated!

You probably shouldn't do that...
You would have to remove steel from the other side until the apex of the edge is centered. That would be about 1/4 of the blade gone.
If you really want to then you would have to remove steel from the flat side of the blade at an angle. Belt grinder would help.

Depends on what system you use. I did that with a CQC-8, I use an edge pro apex and its a pretty easy job with that setup. If you want some help I'd be more than happy to assist you

Do you have a pic you could post? I am curious to see how it turned out.

looks pretty good to me. Did you notice much of a increase in cutting performance? Thanks for the pic.

Well emerson knives when they are single bevel sharpened have a thinner edge that's very hair splicing sharp. I prefer the double bevel because its easier for me to sharpen as well as cutting straighter. Overall I don't mind emerson's edge but I prefer a traditional V
