A coworker gave me a Chispas/Tres Canales machete years ago, and I am having a hard time finding a new or used one to replace it. I found a hardware store in Dominica that has them in stock, but they will not ship. Anyone seen these, or know where one might find them for sale? There are a few different models, all made in Colombia.

Jason Voorhees would gladly approve of your machete of choice.

Every legit business has a phone number.

Start calling and running down leads. It may take time. Plus, you could potentially develop new contacts.

Why?

They want you to buy stuff.

Try the Imacasa #648 machete or Martindale #648 if you just like the pattern.

Chispas was a trademark of Gomez Y Santurio of Bayamon, Puerto Rico, a hardware distributor. They in turn, subcontracted to CI Invermec, SA of Colombia. Invermec is better known as the Incolma machete brand, plus a bunch of others.

It does look like Gomez Y Santurio might be out of business, but here was their address and phone number -

Gomez Y Santurio
CARR 28, BAYAMON, 00961
787-786-7144 or 787-778-5039

Barring that, check with every Puerto Rican hardware store you can google, the brand still seems to have pockets of dead NOS stock there.

I found an Imacasa #648 on Amazon! Thanks everyone for the tips, I'll continue my search for the Chispas as well. I'm remembering now a lot of the guys working in the orchards would use an Imacasa, seemed to work just as well.
