Hi ,

Just wondering who( kami of course) makes Chitlanges and
what qualities they have. Are the shapes slightly different? Who makes one lighter or heavier. I would love to see some pictures. I'm intersted in one but I not sure what to ask for. I can't put my hands on to check it out myself so I have to ask. Are they all 18" or do they come is different sizes. I have looked at the store but
as reading the forum a while it seems there is a larger varitey in existance in all actuality. That is reasonable as hand made things do
tend to vary a bit. Dare I ask who makes the best?

.00002 cent opinion?

Whoever *your* favorite kami is makes the best______. I don't think it's really fair to anyone (especially to you) to try to impose any opinion on you.

Unless, of course, I happen to own one made by a kami no longer producing for HI and I want to sell it to you or impress you...then, of course, his are the best! ;)

Yes, they are all a bit different.

I have had two by Amtrak (R.R) Kami and one by Sher. I gave one by Amtrak as a gift and still have the other two. All three were great, the Sher (no suprise) was a bit heavier then the other two. I was and still am impressed by Amtrak's work. Of the three the one that I kept by him has that certain unexplainable something that makes it one of my favorite Khurks that I own. I really like his handles, they just seem to fit my hand. All that being said it is hard to go wrong with any of them. You only have one choice get one by each...;)

hope to have my hands on one soon...

I know Kumar does a great chitlangi...just haven't held one in my hands, personally.

They do vary in size and weight. My favorite Kami is Kumar. The man makes some awesome pieces that fit my hand perfectly and have the nicest heft of any of the Khukuris I have by a half-dozen Kamis.

Kumar's pieces in general tend to be more sleek than the other Kamis, and tend to balance a bit nicer too - at least for me.
