Today I received the Prototype Chitlangi Bowie from the 7-14 deals. This design was originally an idea that I had for a smaller, bowie or camp type blade to compliment a larger Chitlangi. Here is the original thread regarding this blade design, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=391757&highlight=ideas
Let me just say that Kumar has outdone himself on this one. The fit and finish is absolutely beautiful. It balances great in the hand and is slightly blade heavy as I was hoping. It has a chiruwa style handle as per my original design. It is a little over 1/4 at the spine and is a pretty beefy feeling blade. It came shaving sharp out of the box. What an awesome blade. I still have'nt had the chance to test it yet, but I hopefully will later today. I really have no complaints about this prototype model. A couple of small changes I would make would be to make the tip a little thicker and to drop it a little and the handle a little slimmer (I have small hands). Other than that, it is good to go. It seems very very sturdy. Can't wait to chop something with it! Another really cool thing that I discovered is that the blade actually fits in the sheath for my Ranger Knives RD7!! I really like the sheath that it came with, but to beat around in the woods, the nylon and velcro sheath can't be beat for utility and blade retention. Anyway's, enough talk, lets get to the pics!! I will report back on its performance later.
