Well, I ordered a Chit for one of my son's buddies in Korea. Uncle Bill sent a very nice Bura which I am in the process of "woodchucking" before it's sent. I will not test it :( on anything, but I was amazed at how light it felt. I got out the digital scale and weighed it...15 oz. That's an 18" Chitlangi. I went to the computer to check the usual weight and it's 1.5 pounds. Does anyone else have a Chit that weighs less than 1.5 pounds? This thing feels absolutely wonderful! It will make a formidable weapon. It would be neat to be able to see the young soldier's face when he opens the package and pulls this blade from the sheath. The chakma and karda are well done also.

The one thing I am going to ask is that I get pictures and a field report from the DMZ. HIKV on the DMZ...sort of sounds like a song from the 80's. :D

BTW, T1MPANI (Warren) suggested that I order the Chit. Thanks for the good advice, Warren. You were right about the feel.

Glad you like it, Ben. :) Mine is about 22 ounces, but still balanced so that it's quick. A 15 ounce would move like lightning! I like the feel of these the best of all the khuks I've tried.

Mine's 21 ounces, I almost feel like that is a little too slender for an 18incher.

This is one of the reasons I don't push for weight of billet before manufacture. Some like them light, some like them heavy, and the trade option makes this work into a winning situation.

Ben, there can be such a large variation in Weigh between the same model. For instance, I have a 15" AK that weighs about 1.8 pounds where as I've seen them weigh in around 1.2. It's all part of the fun.;)

I think it's great. This blade feels like a feather...with teeth.:D I know it will be perfect for the Light Infantry soldier it's going to.

I was wondering if perhaps Bura makes blades lighter on a consistent basis whereas Kumar may make them heavier?
