Chitlangi?

The Chitlangi has a distinctive bell-shaped pommel.

It also has a slightly wider and heavier blade with double fullers while the Gelbu is only single fullered (and the fuller is wide and pretty deep).

The Gelbu is probably going to be faster but the Chitlangi should offer more chopping power.

Chits are also a bit more ornate usually, the handles have designs carved into them.
These are usually in the form of some geometric pattern applied to the circumference of the pommel bell area.
For this reason many folks prefer a Gelbu or Sirupati (no fullers) for a duty blade since they don't like to mess up the Chits.

I know the one I have is a bit too cool looking to be taking to the woods and risking getting it messed up...

In point of fact. I am looking into picking up either a Gelbu special or a sirupati. Just to keep from messing up my chitlangi.

Chit's are usualy gorgeous blades.

I'd use the hell out of one.

Yeah, they're pretty. But pretty tools with character on them are better.

:DThat's me too:thumbup:
The fullers on my DuiChirra are pretty, but I'm using the blade way too often to bother bringing it back to the shiny princess it was on arrival. Now it's more of a pretty farm girl:)
But, a girl I love.
