Had some time to kill in Tulsa today while out of town and ended up picking up a Kershaw Chive and a Buck Rush. So I got to comparing them.
The Chive:
Frame lock 'nuff said
Modified spear point?? what do you call it?
Safety lock on bottom of handle. Opposite side of right handed thumb.
Using flip lever opens easier than using thumb studs. Neither have the snap of the Buck.
Point down clip, but can change to point up. I'll probably do that.
Much thinner. Function of the frame lock?
1/2" longer blade, don't have a ruler here.
Feels better in my hand, probably cause I have bigger hands.
Shave hair.
The Rush:
Liner lock but still very strong. doesn't seem to move (unlock) when gripping it tightly.
Spear point w/ a false double edge. but could sharpen it??
Safety lock up by the flip lever. Takes a little getting used to, but once you have it figured out, it works well.
Using flip lever or thumb studs opens the knife very well. Almost has an 'auto' snap to it.
Point up clip, non-changeable
Fatter. Function of the liner?? Also clip style makes it even fatter.
Shorter blade Don't have a ruler here.
Still feels good in my hand tho. The smaller blade makes my little finger hang over the end.
Shaves hair.
Fit and finish on both knifes are excellent. I really like both of them. They're both keepers. Now I gotta get a SOG Twitch.
