Choice between three Sog's

Hello all. I am a gun guy, not really a knife guy and I am in the market for a new defensive folder. I'm currently carrying a Spyderco Endura 4 which I like but I am in the mood for something new. I have my choice narrowed down to 3 knives all from Sog. The Flash II, Trident or Aegis all in Tanto. My issue is this. I am having a hard time telling any real difference between the knives. The trident is a 3.75 blade where the flash and aegis are 3.5. Do you think one knife would be better for the inteden role then the others? Is there a feature on one that I am over looking? Are there any real differences other then just cosmetic?

Thanks!

I am no self defense expert but I am fairly familiar with SOG. None of the mentioned lives have liners so essentially the whole locking mechanism is dependent on plastic. To me their piston lock is like a plastic axis lock. IMO their folders are only good for pure utility and even then their locking mechanism is still a bit shaky.

If you want a defensive folder, go with something like a Cold Steel American Lawman. That will serve you much better in that role (much better lock-up with little to no play), and it will set you back about the same amount of money. SOG's lower-end folders are really only good for general utility tasks.

In that price range of $60-70, you can also get yourself a Scrapyard Scrapivore. It's a small fixed blade with excellent steel.
