these are all about the size needed for this size pack with the Greco being a bit large @ 10" OAL

1....Mini Ka-bar 9 1/2" oal

2....Linder Forester 8 1/2"oal

3....Greco custom whisper 10"oal ( my last pick..but I like it alot)

4....another Linder but a Forestnicker 9" oal

it has to be of the size stated or it won't fit in the bag upright , I am sure there are a host of other great knives to pick from...these are the 4 I need to pick from.......and yes there will be a SAK also , that one gos without sayin'.........a little fun and some help to me :)

You could easily go with a Rat 5 or TAK blade from Ontario
A number of Moras fit the bill
Depending heavily on usage I would also recommend either the Benchmade Nimravus or Fixed Griptilian.
Ontario or Camillus' Pilots Survial Knife or modern rendition.
Ka-Bar Impact Spear Point
Ranger RD4 or Custom.

These are just off the top of my head.

Is there a reason it has to be one of those 4 knives besides size? Think about what you want the knife to do, which is most important, slicing, chopping, etc. Is this knife going to eventually end up on your belt? What jobs can be handled by the SAK - can your fixed blade handle the fine chores if your SAK gets lost or broken?

Of the ones listed, I'd go with the Ka-bar primarily since you state it will be a wall hanger and I wouldn't want too much cash sitting there doing nothing. It's a good stout blade when the time comes that you need one.

I carry a Max Fatboy daily and an inexpensive CS Canadian Belt Knife as a fixed blade in it. It's very light, not tactical looking and fits in the bag with room to spare.
