Choice of Scales

I am about to have a nice 4 blade congress made. It will be dressed up with gold pins and a gold shield. But I am undecided on the scale material. High grade black lip pearl, dark brown jigged bone, or some fine stag. What would be your preference be for a dark scale material out of these three?

Cheers,

Stephen

Hmmm. A gold shield sitting on top of black lip pearl sounds mighty purdy. Not to mention quite elegant. Especially on a four blade congress.

Of those three I'd pick the black lip pearl.

I wonder how gold would look on white mother of pearl?

If your order was for a gents knife, I might go with the b.l. pearl. For a 4-blade congress, with the gold trim, it would be stag all the way for me! Jigged bone would be second.

Thanks, Willgoy, for being the first to open it up to other choices... I just had a Chamblin rescaled for me - a 3 1/4" wharny - in gold lip mop. It already had gold pins, and now looks absolutely outstanding!
