Hello All-

I'm considering the following, but not sure which way to go. I posted this on the other forums, but every forum seems to have it's own personality and leanings; so, I thought I'd try it here, too.

I'm looking for a new EDC that has a blade less than 2.5" long. Have you used any of the following, and which do you prefer?

Tops Gent, Kopa, 55, Alpha Dorado, Dragonfly, or U2.

I have a Kopa and a U2. They both are great for EDC. Depending on what your issues with with EDC are....the U2 is extremely light. You don't even know it is in your pocket. Both are great knives. The U2 steel is wicked hard. I put a convex edge on it and it just stays sharp.

I carry Kopa Cocobolo about a year. It is very nice knife. I love it and cannot imagine to replace with anything else in the near future.
I prefer full flat grind blades and VG10 is very good steel. Finger choil is a big help to hold secure this knife.
I was thinking about getting U2, but I prefer one hand openers.

go for the U2 ... very good value for money
your not paying for advertising nor hyped prices.
light in the pocket
it doesnt look agressive.
and doesnt look gungho enuf to catch a thief or cops eye.

perfect EDC

its not a onehander. most backlocks you can throw open with a flick of the wrist.
or add a thumbstud.

ive handeled an HK Ally, it doesnt feel very comfortable to hold. and personally i dont like stabbers or military looking knives for EDC.

I've never used any of those. But based on aesthetics, the Kopa is my hands-down favorite.

Kopa. Beautiful, great locking system and reasonably priced...sort of.
I love the gold MOP handles. And I wish the blade were S30V.

Okay, so let's narrow it down to the U2 and the Kopa. They were my two top picks of the 5 I posted, anyway. Can I get some more pros and cons?

(I agree about the ally. Plus, I have to stay under 2.5", so these are the best picks I've found.)

Etched Dragonfly. Very beautiful and well made knife. The etching is awesome (I have a Spin Etched), and it has VG-10 Steel.

either the U2 or Kopa will serve you well, it's more a matter of whether you need one-hand-opening or not. Also the Kopa's bolsters will get scratched up after some time wallowing around at the bottom of a pocket.
