Did a posting to narrow myself down on a new EDC. Here's where I'm at

  • Mini Griptilian
  • Manix 2
  • Buck Vantage Avid/Pro
  • Other (List in comments)

The "Other" spot is directed more towards, but not limited to, comparable Spydercos. I'm a fan of their wire clip, which the Manix does not have. I don't want a big knife. No more than 3.5 inches. No assists. Not a fan of Kershaws. Price range is max. at about $100. I'd love to get a Sage (1-4) or maybe a Leaf Storm, but way out of my range for now. Open to other brands, just named a few of my comforts.

Thanks!

You can get a carbon-fiber Sage or a blue G10 scaled Sage on Amazon for $106 with free shipping, if you're willing to spend $100 and would really love a Sage...why not just spend the extra $6?

Now the question is, what do YOU think?

Get kersaw ZT or leak - leak for little knife or ZT for big bad boy - ok i am kersaw guy and hated all my spiders i hate that opener. this design i like it is much larger so i might give that knife a try.

carbon is sweet! CPF-S30V steel blade carbon-fiber Sage

if i do not like it then i send it back to zon! it is plan next knife is spidy.

i have lots of leaks and a ZT

I dig the caly line from spyderco, they are a little more than your budget, but they have a wire clip and the ergos are just absolutley perfect. It may be worth looking into

The lightweight Manix 2 comes with a wire clip and it's flat ground, which I prefer to the regular hollow ground model.

OK, mate you've made it abundantly clear in all your posts that you're not a Spyderco fan. That's fine, I happen not to like CRKT, to each their own. But the OP clearly states that he doesn't want assisted knives or Kershaw products, and you reply recommending assisted opening Kershaw knives. Oh, and by the way, it's called a Leek.

I think the Spyderco Paramilitary 2 is by far the nicest knife in the world under $150. You can get them ANIB on the Exchange here quite often for $100 ANIB. Their S30v is a nice blade.

The Mini-Grip, Vantage, and Manix 2 are pretty different in size. See pic below. I don't have a Manix 2, but the Manix 2 and Superleaf are almost the exact same size (overall length, blade length, cutting edge length). The Superleaf also has their deeper-carry wire clip.

The Sage 1 and 3 sometimes drop below $100 (keep an eye on the exchange). I think I've seen a Superleaf posted there around that price as well.
