Well guys I finally an thinking about trying out kershaw. I previously bought a spyderco millie and I love it, however it a little big.

in the summer we like to go the Oshkosh Wi. for the air show (if you have never been, you should look into it) and this year I am going to volunteer for flight line security. I don't really have a good idea what I will have to do but I was told I should carry a multi tool or knife at all times. I don't mind carrying a knife but my Millie is 4" long and I make a point of not pulling it out in public too much because people whig-out. So in a heavily populated place I was thinking a small LEEK would be a better choice, I would also use the knife as a gents folder when I had to dress up.

So to the question, is there a clear winner between the d2 or Damascus LEEK. I think they both look fantastic but I will still work this knife hard and I am looking for strength and edge retention. I don't know if the d2 welds will hold up to abuse or if the Damascus will hod an edge.

If you definitely like the Leek, then definitely get one. As to which one, if it's for work, I'd suggest the S30V one with G-10. The G-10 is grippier &, IMHO, more useful, & S30V is no slouch, either. In fact, for stain resistence & edge holding, it "might" be the best choice.

Good luck & let us know what you end up getting.

Well my Millie is s30v and I would like to try something new, I also would like the smooth SS gentleman folder look and g10 doesn't quite fit the mold. I am leaning to wards to D2 just because it looks so interesting, plus I think that people that might be threatened when someone pulls out a knife would find it intriguing instead of threatening.

I really like the looks of the CB Leek. I have the Tyrade, so I know how nice
that D2 is at cutting. I haven't had to sharpen it yet. I've been trying
to dull it down enough to do so. Not sure how many licks the spydersticks
will take to bring it back to scary though. I've put it through some stress,
and having the steels separate never crossed my mind.

I also am the biggest pig Damascus Leek owner here. I love that dam knife.
I carry one and have the rest locked up for a rainy day. :)
It keeps a great edge and is easy to sharpen up. Keep in mind it's carbon
steel Damascus. Which in my opinion, makes it easier to sharpen.
I've been carrying it for months, along with my other EDC's. It's my
go-to knife most of the time, mainly for lunchtime at work. I've used
it on small plastic packages, boxes....normal stuff. It's been a great carry.

Whichever one you choose, you can't go wrong in my opinion.
And both are equally intriguing.

I know you didn't mention it, but you might want to look at a Blur. Smaller than the Millie, and only a little larger than the Leek. To me the advantage would be the larger handle to grasp and you can get the SG2 version, or the S30V version at a very reasonable price. ALSO, I know you didn't ask but I'm throwing it out anyway, look at this oldie but goodie......the Avalanche. Had one before and was just amzed at the quality in that knife. It was the reason I started paying attention to Kershaw in the first place!
